NEW! SATURDAY SAMPLER FOR 2008 IT'S A STATE OF MIND
Each year we choose a theme for our monthly block program. This year, we've chosen three "states of mind" and imagined a Spa dedicated to achieving them.
Starting on June 14, 2008, we’ll
offer spa treatments for the mind. Each month
for a year, you’ll have the opportunity to explore one or more of these unique
outlooks as expressed in fabric hue and texture.
If you are a beginner, the blocks are simple enough for you but you can expect to learn a thing or two. Been quilting awhile or done this kind of program before? We've added a twist -- advanced techniques and setting elements available each month - you can finish the program and a quilt top at the same time - no setting decisions to make!

SERENITY
Would you like to achieve a state of Serenity? The calming colors and unruffled textures featured each month in these spa treatments will help you do just that. Choose the Serenity Spa Package, if you want to experience the “calm within a storm” -- soothing shades of aqua, spring green and lavender in semi-solid or calmly textured batiks.

EXUBERANCE
Perhaps you’d like to experience the joy and unrestrained enthusiasm of Exuberance? Expect flamboyance and abundance if you pick the Exuberence Spa Package -- dramatic combinations of color and texture characterized by Kaffe Fasset fabrics -- shouting shades of lilac, blue, green, and rose in patterns that dance above the fabric surface.

REFLECTION
Take your cue from the pensive feelings of nostalgia and reminiscence. Select the Reflection Spa Package and travel through memory and time. – aided by period pieces in chocolate browns, rose reds, and pinks with just a hint of haunting blue.

HOW DOES A SATURDAY SAMPLER PROGRAM WORK?
- You must arrive at the shop no later than 9 a.m., 11 a.m., or 1 p.m. (depending on the session you are assigned) on the 2nd Saturday of the month, starting June 14.
* PLEASE NOTE: The program will start promptly at five minutes after the hour – you are LATE if you do not arrive before the program starts. We are VERY strict about following the rules – please don’t ask us to make an exception for you.
- We will unveil the featured block for the month and provide a 15-minute lesson filled with special tips and techniques for making the block. You’ll also receive written instructions giving you detailed cutting and piecing directions for your 12” block.
- You will pick up your kit(s) only AFTER the instructional session ends.
- You will pay $5 for your “spa package” kit the first month. Now here’s the best part! Each following month, if you personally bring your completed block to your assigned session AND arrive on time, the next kit is FREE! With just a little bit of work (about 1 hour), you will be able to bring a completed block each month and get enough blocks to design a quilt top that costs you only $5.
- If you can’t make it to a session OR arrive late OR didn’t finish your block (even if you left it at home!) you will be asked to purchase your kit for $5.
- You may choose to receive more than one “spa package” kit each month but only one is available for the “Free Kit” offer. Extra kits are available at $5 each.
- For each spa package kit you receive, you may add a monthly "finishing" kit for $6 each. Each finishing kit include instructions for setting components that will turn your monthly kit blocks into a complete and cohesive quilt top by the time the program ends.
- No changes to your “spa package” kit selection(s) will be allowed after the first month.
HOW TO REGISTER
To be fair to all our customers, we will conduct open enrollment starting on Sunday, May 11, at 8 a.m. You may either send an email to jane@quiltersway.com or call the shop at (978) 371-1177 and leave a voicemail message.
Make sure that you tell us 1) session: 9am, 11am or 1pm, 2) spa package(s): Serenity, Exuberance, Reflection or more than one, and 3) finishing treatments(s): to which of your spa package(s) you want to add finishing kits.
All messages will be time stamped and participants will be assigned to the session of their choice based on the time of their request. No requests will be accepted before May 11.

BATIK CLUB
Would you love to see our newest batiks before anyone else?
Well you can! Each month we'll select 10 of the most beautiful batiks to enter the shop and reserve them for our Batik Club members. Although you won't be personally picking the color scheme, we'll make sure that they create a pleasing and coordinated grouping.
When you join our Batik Club, you'll pay $10 for a six-month membership. Unless you specify otherwise, each month, we'll automatically cut 10 fat quarters and bill your credit card $25. You may withdraw from the club at any time. To re-join, you'll need to pay the membership fee again.
You may choose to automatically receive larger yardage cuts of all 10 fabrics: half-yard cuts for $49/month or 1-yard cuts for $90/month.
Your club membership gives
you the opportunity to take part in other special club offerings.
We guarantee that all club fabrics will be reserved exclusively
for club members for a period of one month. Only bolt left-overs
(if any) will ever see the shop floor.

We hope you love this stunning wool Block of the Month quilt from Primitive Gatherings as much as we do. The program starts January 29th with a FREE refresher class from 6-9pm. Pick up your first kit and review how the program works as well as the techniques you'll need to make a work of art.
When you register for this program, your credit card will automatically be charged each month for 12 months. In Month 1, you’ll pay $100 for your finishing kit as well as Block 1. In subsequent months, you’ll pay $27.50 for Blocks 2-12.

Quilter's Way 2nd Annual
Weekend Away will be held at the
Inns at Mill Falls in Meredith, New
Hampshire. This compound of four
inns and seven restaurants has plenty
going on. We'll be staying at the
Chase House which boasts lake views,
fireplaces and balconies.
Take some time for yourself
in 2008-- we think you'll enjoy the
locale and the company!

Briefly, here are the details. The cost for the weekend
is $350 for Friday and Saturday night stay with double
occupancy. Single rooms and Thursday night stays may be available
at extra cost. A variety
of room layouts are available (some include jacuzzis). Make
your reservation early for the most
options.
Meals include Friday night dinner;
breakfast, snack and dinner on Saturday; and breakfast
on Sunday. You can arrive any time after 10am on
Friday to start sewing -- guest rooms are available
after 3pm.
Sew as much or as little as you want - there is plenty
to do. We'll provide several projects for you to
work on as you enjoy a sunny open sewing space -- or bring your own work
and we'll help wherever we can. We'll need to be packed for home
at noon on Sunday.
